Run for your life - part 4

Her arms had already sank when her head started to be dragged. She lifted her nose, trying to breathe, to pull the much air as possible. She filled all her lungs with air before her nose got dragged, but when the line of her eyes started to get down and lose sight, she suddenly gave up. She deliberately gave up on her life. She closed her eyes and waited for the darkness to come and overtake everything.

She waited in a torpor state. Everything was in an absolut silence, except for her heartbeats hammering. Thud, thud, thud...

After some time, it slowed the speed and the repeating sound of it calmed her down but didn't cleared her thoughts. Her mind was working at double speed, while her body remained completely still. Images from the past, desires for the future, hundreds of unanswered questions swirling inside her head. She felt the eager to get up and do something, to run again, to be happy again, but her body remained frozen like a statue.

She was starting to become impatient when she heard voices calling for her name.
